National Disability Agency (NDA) Somalia

BACKGROUND:  

The National Disability Agency (NDA) is an independent federal entity on disability affairs in Somalia, under the Law# Lr. 134 in 2018. Five Commissioners with disabilities were appointed by Prime Ministerial Decree Lr. 122 on January 21, 2021. Comprising (3 females and 2 males), Chair (male) Deputy Chair (female), General Secretary (female) and two members.

The NDA was launched in July 2021.
The Commissioners will serve four years and one renewable term.

VISION

That all persons with disabilities achieve their goals and become contributors and active members of society;

where persons with disabilities enjoy equal rights, dignity and opportunities with others.

MISSION

To provide direction to and coordinate and monitor the activities of government, non-government, and the disability organizations involved in the prevention of the causes of disability, rehabilitation, and equalization of opportunities in partnership with Local, National, Regional and International organizations.

We offer support coordination services to help individuals with disabilities navigate the complex disability system and access the services and supports they need to achieve their goals
